INVITATION FOR BIDS
"J.W. KILLAM ELEMENTARY SCHOOL", BID NUMBER KS-26-07
The Town of Reading invites Prequalified General Contractors and Filed Sub Bid Contractors to submit electronic bids for the new J.W. Killam Elementary School (aka Killam Elementary School) at 333 Charles Street, Reading, MA 01867. All bids will be received through biddocs.com
Bid Forms and Contract Documents will be available to download on April 7th after 9 a.m. from biddocs.com (may be viewed electronically and downloaded at no cost) or hard copies may be purchased online at biddocs.com or at Nashoba Blue, Inc. at 433 Main Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (978-568-1167). To locate the project, go to biddocs.com, click on the orange Bid Listings button in the upper right and then search or click on the project name.
The scope of work includes including new building construction and associated site development work, demolition of existing building structure, as well as roadway, sidewalk, driveway, and traffic improvements.
Non-Mandatory Pre-Bid Site Walk Friday, April 10th @ 1:00 pm (meet in the existing J.W. Killam Elementary School parking lot at 333 Charles St, Reading, MA 01867).

All Contractor questions are due April 23, at 3:00 pm.
Addendum will be issued on April 29, available after 3:00 pm.
Filed sub-bids are due May 6, at 3:00 pm.
Bids are due May 19, at 3:00 pm.
Bid Security in the form of a bid bond, cash, certified check, treasurer's or cashier's check payable to the Owner, is required in the amount of five percent of the bid.
Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of Department of Workforce Development under the provisions of the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27D, as amended, apply to this project. It is the responsibility of the Contractor, before bid opening, to request if necessary, any additional information on Minimum Wage Rates for those tradespeople who may be employed for the proposed work under this Contract.
The bidding and award of this Contract will be under the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 149.
Please note: This project includes prequalification requirements for general contractors and all filed -sub-bid contractors except elevators. Elevators as a filed sub-bid section, are open to any DCAMM qualified sub-contractor.
The Town of Reading reserves the right to reject any and all bids, or to award or not to award the contract for any reason the Town Manager determines to be in the Town's and/or the public's best interest.
