In April 2015, the proponents for a 40B Project at 39-41 Lincoln Street and 2-12 Prescott Street submitted an Application for Site Eligibility to MassHousing. Click here to view the Application for Site Eligibility.

Town Staff reviewed the Application for Site Eligibility and provided comments on the proposal back to MassHousing. Click here to view that letter.

On August 17, 2015, the Town received a letter from MassHousing deeming the 'Reading Village' project eligible under the requirements. Click here to see that letter from MassHousing and their comments.

On January 7, 2016, the project proponent, MKM Reading LLC, submitted an application to the Zoning Board of Appeals in accordance with Chapter 40B for a Comprehensive Permit. See below for the submitted documents, as well as peer review and staff feedback.

On Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 7:00 PM, the Zoning Board of Appeals opened the public hearing on this project at the Pleasant Street Center, 49 Pleasant Street. The project was also discussed at a joint Board of Selectmen / Community Planning & Development Commission meeting on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, and by the Zoning Board of Appeals on Thursday, March 17, 2016, and Thursday, May 12, 2016. Immediately preceding the hearing on May 12th, the Town's 40B Consultant - Beals & Thomas, Inc. - gave a presentation on some of the key tenets of the Chapter 40B process. The Zoning Board of Appeals continued the hearing on Thursday, June 23, 2016, and Thursday, July 21, 2016.

On June 21st, the Applicant submitted new plans that include the Brown's Automotive parcel on the corner of Lincoln and Prescott Streets. See below for these plans. At the continued public hearing on June 23, 2016, the Applicant presented the new plans. Click here to view the presentation.
