(READING, MA) - Beginning over the next two weeks the Town of Reading will offer COVID-19 vaccinations to our homebound residents by request. Our Public Health Department has been provided with an estimated 70 doses designated for homebound individuals.
An individual is considered HOMEBOUND if:
1. The person cannot leave home under normal, everyday circumstances and/or
2. When leaving home, requires significant and taxing effort and assistance from another person, particularly when getting in and out of a motor vehicle.
Homebound does mean you can leave the home for religious services, medical appointments, taking a brief walk/car ride.
The Town is working to identify individuals who are homebound. If you or a loved one meets the above description, please call 781-942-6653 and speak to a member of Town Staff, or leave a message, to arrange for a phone screening. Staff members will be answering that line Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
