The Town of Reading is seeking responses for “On-Call” Architectural Design Services for capital improvement projects related to Town buildings. Services will be effective from June 2022 to June 2023 with two one-year options to renew from 2023 to 2025.
Sealed responses will be received at the Town Hall, Town Clerk’s office, 16 Lowell Street, Reading, MA 01867 until 1:00 p.m. on June 16, 2022 at which time and place said Proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The purpose of this RFQ is to develop a long-term working relationship with one or two firms for a three-year period, without having to request an RFQ on a project-by-project basis. This ultimately will save time and money for the Town of Reading. Our objectives are to become more time and cost effective; minimize the learning curve relative to a firm’s ability to become familiar with our buildings; and be more responsive to bidding critical projects by eliminating individual designer selection RFQ process for smaller projects.
Bid Security in the form of a bid bond, cash, certified check, treasurer’s or cashier’s check payable to the TOWN OF READING, is required in the amount of five percent of the bid.
The Proposal, Specifications and Required Forms for the contract may be examined and copies obtained free of charge via https://www.readingma.gov/Bids.aspx after May 25 at 9 am. Please note that Town Hall is closed on Fridays.
It is the responsibility of prospective proposers and or Proposers to check the Town of Reading’s website for new information any addenda or modifications to any solicitation.

If the Reading Town Hall is closed due to weather or other emergency, the deadline for receipt of proposals shall be extended until 1:00 P.M. local time on the next business day that the Town Hall is open.
The contract will be awarded under the provisions of M.G.L. c. 7C §§ 44-58.
The Town of Reading reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, or to award or not to award the contract for any reason the Town Manager determines to be in the Town's and/or the public's best interest.
