Downtown Visitor/Customer Parking

Parking is regulated Mon-Friday from 8am-5pm

No overnight parking allowed in any municipal Lot 1am-6am year-round.

No overnight on street parking during winter season from 1am-6am. (See Resident Parking Tab for exception)  

 

Downtown Reading is a thriving busy and growing center with many great places to dine, shop, and live. There are several different options for parking to visit you favorite local establishments.

On street parking:

Many parking spaces are available for free for up to 2 hours unless otherwise stated.  

 

Paid Parking-coming soon

There are two parking lots located in the downtown center that are paid parking to allow a visitor to park for longer than 2 hours.  There are two kiosks located in each lot. This is a pay by plate system. No need to put a receipt or pass in your windshield. 

The two lots are:

- Upper Municipal Lot (aka lot behind CVS) 

- The Brande Court Lot (aka the Old Atlantic parking lot) 

 

Fee:  Up to one hour free (Not a first free hour, only up to one hour) 

1-4 hours- $1.00 per hour

After 4 hours- $5.00 per hour

Other Parking Options:

The Reading Train Depot is located on High Street and Lincoln Street. The permit requirement is only from 6:00am- 9:30am Monday- Friday. After 9:30am anyone can park at the train depot. No parking allowed from 1:00am-6:00am.

 Handicap Accessible Parking:

 

Parking shall be free and with no time restriction (no overnight parking) to any person with a Handicap Placard in any public space in the Downtown Area.
