Overview
Our Patrol Division is the largest and most visible arm of the Department. The Patrol Division consists of the uniformed officers who respond to calls for service, render aid, enforce state and local laws, conduct traffic enforcement, respond to car crashes, and generally address all police emegency situations in the Town of Reading. The Patrol Division is separated into a Dayshift Patrol Division and a Nightshift Patrol Divison.

 

Division Assignments
Respond to 911 Calls
- Respond to non-emergency calls for service
- Maintain a strong patrol presence 24 hours a day
- Conduct inital investigations
- Maintain law and order
- Enforce state and local law
- Protect lives and property
- Serve court paperwork and warrants
- Render first responder medical aid
- Direct traffic
