The Town of Reading will conduct a public meeting this week to update the community on the proposed renovations of the Hunt Park Playground. The meeting will be held on Thursday, March 23rd at 7:15 in the Community Room at the Reading Police Station. The meeting will feature a PowerPoint presentation and a question & answer period.
The Reading Department of Public Works has dismantled the existing Hunt Park Playground to make way for renovations that will take place this spring. In place of the old structure will be a variety of new playground equipment.
The playground abuts Eaton Street and Pleasant Street and is located next to the Hunt Park Memorial Field, which is home to many Reading Little League games as well as special recreational events like the Challenger Baseball Tournament.
The playground renovation is funded through the Town of Reading Capital Plan and is scheduled to be completed by early summer.
