Reading’s Earth Day Fair will take place on April 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Parker Middle School, 45 Temple Street. The fair has a larger selection than ever of energy saving products for the home and gasoline savings for the auto. Along with solar panels for the home, electric heat pumps for efficiently heating and cooling the home will be on display.
This year’s outdoor display of electric vehicles will include BMW’s i3, Chevrolet’s Volt (and possibly the new Bolt), Ford’s Focus & CMax models, Hyundai’s Ioniq elec, Kia’s Soul electric or Optima plug-in, Nissan’s Leaf and Volvo’s XC90. This is a great opportunity to easily compare these vehicles under one roof.
Many of our local town committees along with the Reading Municipal Light Department will also have tables with displays on the appreciation and good stewardship of our outdoors as well as numerous methods to reduce our energy consumption.
The event is free and very family friendly. Please mark your calendars for Saturday, April 22nd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hope to see you there, The Reading Climate Advisory Committee. For more information, call (781) 439-9146.
