The Reading Conservation Commission is seeking to fill two Full Membership and two Associate vacancies.

Commission members work to ensure that all construction and development projects, residential and commercial, that may alter any wetlands, floodplains, rivers, streams, ponds and/or lakes comply with state and local laws and regulations. The Commission also protects and manages the Town’s Conservation Lands and natural resources. The commission meets twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday 7:00 PM in the selectman’s meeting room in Town Hall. 

Interested parties are welcome to attend a meeting of the Conservation Commission to learn more about the Commission’s work and duties and the Member and Associate Member positions. Expertise in or knowledge of stormwater management, landscape architecture or design, Geology, are desired but not required. Engineering with experience in water resources, Teachers with a science background and gardener knowable about plans are all good candidates.
