The Reading Police Department now offers to it's residents an opportunity to have their street surveyed for speed, volume and class of vehicle. Recently through a grant funded by the Governor's Highway Safety Bureau (GHSB), The Reading Police Department purchased two of these traffic/speed survey counters and data recorders.
JAMAR automatic traffic recorders are accurate and reliable vehicle data collectors that allow us to record a wide variety of data, including volume, speed, classification and gap.
Please be aware that due to manpower constraints, we will not be able to fulfill every request without delay. We will do our best to prioritize your street based on time and location.
We understand that your request is very important to you, as it is to us. We ask only that you keep in mind that we can only do one or possibly two locations during a given time period.
Please fill out the form below and put in a request to have your street surveyed.
If you have any question, please contact:
Safety Officer Michael Lee
(781) 942-6775
Currently we are conducting studies in two locations in town:
1.) Louanis Drive
2.) Pineridge Road
Results for these traffic/speed studies can be viewed by clicking on the link below:
Please be advised, due to the impending winter months, we will be suspending speed survey requests until the weather is warmer and road conditions provide better conditions. Thank you for your patience.
