Commissioners of Trust Funds - Reading Response and Medical Transportation Programs
Reading Response
Since 1988, skilled nursing, home health aides, medical social work, and Lifeline emergency response communication devices for needy Reading citizens have been funded by the interest on the Town's Hospital Trust Funds through a program called Reading Response. Visitng Nurse agencies have been chosen to administer the program through a competitive bidding process. In July 2006, the Trust Fund Commissioners signed a three-year contract with Hallmark Health Visitng Nurse Association (100 Hospital Road, Malden, MA) to act as administrators. For further information about the program, please call (781) 338-7800.
Medical Transportation
The Trust Fund Commissioners contract with the Town of Reading Elder/Human Services Division to coordinate the Medical Transportation Program, also funded by the interest on the Hospital Trust Funds. Either taxi or chair rides for needy citizens to and from medical appointments in Reading, Bosotn, or surrounding towns are provided. For further information about the program, please call (781) 942-6658.
