Reading Housing Authority participates in the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program Centralized Waiting List. Applications may be obtained at any of the participating agencies or online at www.section8listmass.org. There is a preference for Reading residents or people working in Reading at least 30 hours a week.
Applications must be completed fully, signed and dated. Applicant needs to COMPLETE ONLY ONE PRELIMINARY APPLICATION and return it to ONE PARTICIPATING HOUSING AUTHORITY, listed on the back of the application. By completing the one application, the applicant is included on the Centralized Waiting List and considered by ALL participating housing authorities.
Completed applications may be delivered in person or mailed to any participating housing authority. Copies, facsimiles or emails of completed applications will not be accepted. No documentation is needed at time of application. Applications will be accepted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, national origin, familial status or disability.
Current income eligibility levels for Reading residents are:
1 person - $32,150 |
2 people - $36,750 |
3 people - $41,350 |
4 people - $45,900 |
5 people - $49,600 |
6 people - $53,250 |
Depending on where families decide to live, the income levels may be different.
